Q: What is the Oaks Spa Cuisine?
A: Our daily 1000-1200 calorie menu features foods that are low in fat, salt, and sugar, and are all prepared with less than 20% fat. We use the freshest fruits and vegetables, a variety of whole grains, seafood, and white meat or poultry. Our food is seasoned with both dried and fresh herbs (many of which are grown on site, in our own herb garden), lemon, wine, spices, gourmet vinegars, and our own tomato salsa.
The Oaks does not provide grain sugar, salt or artificial substitutes because our philosophy maintains that these items can be found naturally in many foods, and their over use in the refined form can lead to a variety of health concerns.
It has been well established that the only way to maintain weight loss is to make permanent changes in your eating and exercise habits. It is our hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to experience some new dishes and then take the recipes home.
