I do a lot
of one on one appointments here at the Oaks. If I
had a dime for every time I tell a client
something in regard to their exercise and eating
habits, and they said, "I know that", I'd be rich!
It turns out that there are 3
layers of information.
Layer 1 is KNOWLEDGE. You learn
something and KNOW it.
Layer 2 is UNDERSTANDING.
You GET what you KNOW.
Layer 3 is WISDOM. You KNOW it,
GET it, and DO it!
Wisdom is supreme because it
applies what we know.
What's the Nike slogan?
JUST DO IT!
So today, right away, do a quick
self survey on what you know.
Come on. You KNOW a lot about
food, right? Good carbs/Bad carbs. Good fat/Bad
fat. How much is too much? THe need for fiber,
water, fresh stuff...So what needs a little
application in your life? Maybe journal your food
choices for a week and see where the weak link
is.
Maybe cut everything back by
25-30% and see what happens. Maybe slow down on
sweets and/or alcohol. You know the drill, so take
what you know and be WISE and DO!
How about exercise? You know you
feel better when you do it,that's a pretty good
pay off right there. How about all of the other
health benefits? Write them down. You know this
stuff! Take a second right now. Draw in a deep
breath and slowly release it. Again. Now slowly
move your head side to side to release your neck.
Roll your shoulders. See? Don't you feel
better already just doing it?
A little application is worth
WAY more than a lot of unused information, so
before you amass any more facts, use the ones you
have! At the end of the day,
It's NOT
what you KNOW,
It's what you DO!
